Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Sociffy is a social network for sharing posts, photos and videos with friends. The service is operated by Sociffy ("we", "us"). Contact: privacy@sociffy.com.
2. Information we collect
- Account details you give us: name, email address, password (stored only as a salted hash), and optionally city, gender, date of birth, phone number, bio, hobbies and a profile photo.
- Professional profile (optional): job title, company, skills, years of experience, LinkedIn URL and an uploaded résumé.
- Content you create: posts, comments, questions and answers, ratings, likes, shares, photos and videos you upload, friend requests, messages and call history.
- Technical data: IP address, browser/app version (the apps send an
X-App-Versionheader), device type and timestamps, kept in server logs for security and troubleshooting.
We do not collect precise location, contacts, advertising identifiers or any data from other apps. The apps request no permissions other than network access (and, when enabled, notifications).
3. How we use it
- To provide the service: show your profile and posts to other members, deliver notifications, messages and calls, and suggest friends.
- To keep the service safe: authenticate you, prevent abuse, and act on reports and blocks.
- To communicate with you about your account.
We do not sell your data, show third-party ads or use your data for advertising profiling.
4. Who can see your information
Your name, profile photo, bio and public posts are visible to other signed-in members. You control the visibility of your city, email, phone and date of birth per field (Public / Friends / Only me) from your profile settings. Posts marked "friends only" or "only me" are restricted accordingly.
5. Service providers
Your data is stored on Amazon Web Services (EC2, RDS and S3) in the United States. Media files are stored in a private S3 bucket and served only through our servers. We use no analytics or tracking SDKs.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the app (Settings → Delete account) or at www.sociffy.com/account/delete. Deletion removes your profile, posts, comments, media, friendships, messages and sign-in tokens within 24 hours; server logs are rotated within 30 days. Backups are purged within 35 days.
7. Security
All traffic is encrypted with TLS. Passwords are hashed; mobile sign-in uses short-lived access tokens and rotating refresh tokens stored in the device's encrypted storage and excluded from cloud backups.
8. Your rights
You may access and edit your data from your profile, export it on request, and delete it as described above. Residents of the EU/UK, California and other jurisdictions with privacy laws may exercise their statutory rights by emailing privacy@sociffy.com.
9. Children
Sociffy is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we delete the account.
10. Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the effective date. Material changes will be announced in the app.
